Good morning, Naperville! America turns 250 this week, a pretty big birthday if you ask us. Whether you're heading to a parade, gathering with family, or catching fireworks, we hope you have a fun, safe, and memorable Fourth of July.

🎆 Chicagoland has no shortage of Fireworks displays to celebrate the big 250! You can find a lengthy list of options here. Here are a few for Naperville and the surrounding area:

• Aurora (July 3) — Fireworks return to RiverEdge Park, with gates opening at 6 p.m. and the show beginning at 9:15 p.m.

• Lisle (July 3) — Live music starts at 5:30 p.m. at Community Park, followed by fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

• Warrenville (July 3) — Festivities begin at 5 p.m. in Cerny Park, with a parade at 6 p.m. and fireworks at 9:15 p.m.

• Naperville (July 4) — Celebrate with the Naperville Municipal Band at 7:30 p.m. and fireworks at 9:30 p.m. at Frontier Sports Complex.

🐴 Since 2016, Naperville based Transformative Growth Counseling has helped make mental health care more affordable for families by providing nearly $1 million in free and reduced-cost therapy each year. Now, the nonprofit is adding a unique new service: equine assisted therapy featuring miniature therapy ponies Oreo and Coco. The gentle duo helps children build confidence, emotional regulation, and social skills in a fun, low-pressure environment. Beyond therapy sessions, Oreo and Coco also visit schools and community events, spreading awareness and a little joy.

🎆 Before the booms begin, one quick reminder. We don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but a few simple precautions can help make sure your Independence Day ends with great memories, not a trip to the ER. If you're using fireworks, keep kids at a safe distance, have water nearby, and never relight a dud. Stay safe out there!

❤️ Some good news for local nonprofits. The DuPage Foundation is investing $1.3 million into more than 70 local nonprofits, including several serving Naperville. Organizations like Loaves & Fishes, DuPagePads, 360 Youth Services, and Ride Assist Naperville will use the funding to expand critical community services.Just make sure your referral confirms on their end, and you’re good to go!

Meet Buster 🐾 a happy, friendly pup with a personality that's impossible to resist! He loves meeting new people and will happily wiggle his way over for pets and attention. After his previous owner could no longer care for him due to declining health, Buster is ready for a fresh start.

Having lived with both children and another dog, Buster enjoys being part of the family and is eager to find a forever home where he can share his playful spirit and endless affection.
